John’s work is recognized for its high contrasts, frequent use of long shadows, and dynamic compositions. His observations reveal the extraordinary in the commonplace.
“I gravitate to work that takes risks.”
“all the technical aside, it needs to have the feel.”
“I don’t actually own a boat…”
John was brought up in Stewartstown Pennsylvania, and later Baltimore County Maryland. He began painting at Towson University in the early 2000s. After graduating, John embarked on adventures west to the mountains of Wyoming, and returned to begin a family in the waterfront region of Southern Maryland. He currently lives with his wife and five children in Saint Mary’s County Maryland.
